Valentine's Day and Ash Wednesday
There’s no sin up on the Angerer Alm
There's no sin up on the Alm’ is a well-worn phrase hereabouts – said with a wink and tongue firmly in cheek, of course! On 14 February, Annemarie Foidl and her team will, however, offer the height of romance at the Angerer Alm. A superb opportunity for lovebirds to enjoy the day of love in the most romantic of surroundings, with all the things that make being a couple such unforgettable fun.
Japanese men receive chocolates from their partners on Valentine’s Day, and here, women are often given flowers by their loves. Flowers soon wilt, leaving no trace of the romance of the day. On the other hand, a night in one of the Angerer Alm's rustic rooms is simply unforgettable. Marking this day with a romantic night at 1,300m above sea level is a very special way to say, ‘I love you’. Just think of the fun you’ll have:
Start with a walk or ski run in the glistening snow followed by an aperitif under the starry sky on the terrace before tucking into a three-course, heart-themed dinner, which Gerald Weiss and Katharina Foidl promise will include a few ‘sinful’ ingredients – they take full responsibility for this. And to finish, a glass of delicious wine from the exquisite wine cellar that certified sommelier Annemarie describes as her ‘realm’. If this doesn’t whet your appetite for romance you’ll probably never know what the adage about sin and the Alm really means...
Valentine’s Day falls on Ash Wednesday this year, meaning that the Angerer Alm faces the additional challenge of making a vegetarian Ash Wednesday dish available alongside the romantic, heart-themed menu. We’re making sure that everyone is happy: couples and fasters. All for just €42 per person.
